Fujifilm GFX100 II Medium Format Camera

In September, Fujifilm released the GFX 100 II, loaded with an impressive suite of enhancements and fresh features, significantly increasing the appeal of the GF line to anyone considering making a jump from full-frame. Pairing a new 102MP sensor with Fujifilm’s latest X-Processor 5, the GFX100 II is the most responsive and agile GFX camera, delivering notable enhancements in continuous shooting, autofocus speed and accuracy, and video performance.

The autofocus system, powered by deep-learning AI, offers exceptional tracking on humans, animals and vehicles. A continuous frame rate of up to 8 fps is possible with the mechanical shutter, and the five-axis in-body image stabilisation system provides up to 8 stops of IBIS to ensure sharpness with handheld shooting at slower shutter speeds. Hybrid shooters will appreciate the GFX100 II’s impressive video capabilities that offer 4K/60p and 8K/30p 4:2:2 10-bit in-camera recording. The exceptional 9.44m-dot EVF coupled with a three-way tilting touch LCD provides intuitive control for capturing the perfect composition.

Sony A7C II and A7CR Full-Frame Mirrorless Cameras

Adding to Sony’s growing lineup of full-frame cameras are the new a7C II and a7CR. Both cameras feature full-frame sensors and incorporate capabilities much from higher-end models. Sony's latest Bionz XR processor and Advanced AI-based autofocus and subject recognition algorithms drive the outstanding performance of both new models. This combination of imaging technologies ensures superior image quality and fast and accurate autofocus even in low light, while the 5-axis IBIS system offers 7-stops of shake compensation for handheld shooting. 

Sony A7CR Mirrorless Full-Frame Camera 

Virtually identical in appearance with their enhanced grip, front control dial, side-opening vari-angle LCD, and weather-resistant design, it’s the sensors with their associated strengths and limitations that differentiate these two cameras. A successor to the a7C, the a7C II adopts the 33MP sensor of the versatile A7 IV, while the a7CR borrows the high-resolution 61MP sensor from the a7R V. Present in the A7CR, but not the a7C II, is the Pixel Shift Multi Shooting function which utilises the sensor-shift mechanism to capture a series of consecutive images that can be combined in post to enhance colour or increase resolution to 240MP. The a7C II allows continuous shooting up to 10 fps, while the a7CR can shoot up to 8 fps.

Each can shoot 10-bit 422 video in S-Log3, S-Gamut3.Cine and S-Cinetone internally, with the a7CR having the added advantage of being able to output 16-bit raw over HDMI. 4K recording is possible in both with frame rates up to 60p, although the readout methods differ due to the difference in sensor resolution. Slow-motion recording is possible at 120 fps in 1080P.

Panasonic LUMIX G9II Micro Four Thirds Camera

Panasonic’s latest offering is the photo-centric LUMIX G9II, a powerful and versatile mirrorless camera designed for enthusiasts and professional photographers seeking exceptional image quality and performance. OM System Tough TG-7 Digital Compact Camera

For those on the hunt for a reliable camera to join them on their next adventure, OM Systems has just released the latest addition to their Tough series, the OM TG-7. This durable point-and-shoot favourite retains the outstanding features of its predecessors, including image quality, portability, and ruggedness, while introducing a few enhancements.
